Remote extensions keep you connected

Your work doesn't stop at the office, and neither does TalkSwitch. Any phone, anywhere, can be added as a remote extension of your system. Cell phones, home phones and phones in other offices can be reached with simple 3-digit dialing, and calls can be seamlessley transferred and screened. With remote extensions, your customers, employees and partners can always stay connected.

Ready to grow with you

Like all TalkSwitch systems, the TalkSwitch 280vs is ready to grow. It comes with capacity for 2 traditional telephone lines and 8 local extensions, but you can increase capacity any time by upgrading it or networking it with other TalkSwitch units including the 48-CA, 48-CVA and any VS units. The maximum capacity of TalkSwitch Systems is 16 traditional phone lines, 16 VoIP trunks and 32 local and 40 remote extensions.

Whether you do it yourself or rely on a professional, TalkSwitch installation is fast and easy, saving you time and money. Plus, all of your call handling settings are configured on the included user-friendly Windows software, so it's a snap to make TalkSwitch work the way you want it to, and you don't have to pay a technician every time you move or add an employee.

Phone Freedom

Unlike most PBX systems, TalkSwitch doesn't tie you down to proprietary telephones. TalkSwitch systems work with standard analog phones and selected IP phones, so if you already have telephones, chances are they'll work with TalkSwitch. If you do need phones, check out our line of analog telephones tailor-made for TalkSwitch.

VoIP-ready

The TalkSwitch 280vs is configured for 2 traditional telephone lines, but VoIP is just an upgrade away. TalkSwitch was designed to handle both VoIP and traditional calling, so when you're ready to add VoIP to your system, it'll be ready for you. That means you're not paying for VoIP you don't need today, but you can easily upgrade tomorrow. If you do need VoIP now, consider the TalkSwitch 284vs or the TalkSwitch 484vs.

Requirements and recommendations:

For configuration software: Windows Vista (32 bit) or Windows XP or Windows 2000 and minimum 256MB RAM, 160MB hard disk space and 800x600 screen resolution.

Wiring: TalkSwitch usually requires no extra wiring beyond the standard infrastructure in most commercial and residential buildings. In rare cases, depending on your existing infrastructure and desired distribution of extensions, some re-wiring may be necessary. Consult your Authorized TalkSwitch Reseller or talk to a telephone systems and service professional in your area.

Telephone company services:
Some phone company services can enhance your TalkSwitch performance:
Caller ID is recommended but not required.
Hunt/Rollover/Busy Forwarding is recommended if you have more than one phone line connected to TalkSwitch.
Transfer and Clear frees a phone line after a call has been transferred to a remote extension.
3-way Calling allows you to use a single line to forward calls to remote extensions, conference calls and access call bridge. If you want the caller to hear music continuously while on hold, we do not recommend using this service.
Telephone Company Voicemail allows a caller to leave a message even if all lines become unavailable.
We do not recommend using Call Waiting, because TalkSwitch can't answer two calls on the same line. The second caller would be unable to access your auto attendants, extensions, voicemail and call cascade sequences.
