A VoIP business phone system carries your calls over your data network instead of copper phone lines. It can be hosted in the cloud or run on equipment at your office, and we'll recommend the setup that fits your business. Either way, you get desk phones, mobile and computer apps, voicemail to email, auto attendants, and call routing. For most Knoxville businesses it also costs less than a stack of traditional phone lines.
The technology is the easy part. What decides whether your new system sounds good and gets used is the work around it: checking the network, mapping how calls should flow, keeping the older equipment you rely on, and making sure your staff are comfortable on day one. That's the part we do in person.
What a system from us includes
- Desk phones, cordless phones, and apps. Choose the mix that fits each person. Desk phones for the front office, cordless handsets for the shop floor, and a softphone app for anyone who works from a laptop or cell phone.
- Call flows built around your business. Auto attendant greetings, ring groups, after-hours and holiday routing, and overflow to cell phones, set up to match how your team really works.
- Number porting. We move your existing numbers and schedule the cutover outside your busy hours.
- E911 set up correctly. Kari's Law and RAY BAUM'S Act require multi-line phone systems to support direct 911 dialing and to send a location dispatchers can act on. We configure your building, floor, and suite details so help goes to the right door.
- Room for older equipment. Fax machines, door buzzers, and overhead paging can stay. See hybrid and analog support.
Why we test your network first
Choppy audio, one-way calls, and dropped calls are almost never the phone's fault. They come from an overloaded internet connection, an old switch, a router setting that interferes with voice traffic, or Wi-Fi that doesn't reach the back office. Before we install, we run an on-site network audit and fix what we find. That one step is the biggest reason our installs go smoothly.
Launch day
We don't drop off boxes. We install the phones, place test calls from every location, and then sit down with your staff for face-to-face training on the features they'll use every day. You'll have a printed quick-reference card at each desk and a local number to call with questions afterward.
Who it's a good fit for
Our business phone systems work well for offices with roughly 3 to 100 users: medical and dental practices, law firms, auto repair shops, contractors, warehouses, and professional offices across East Tennessee. If you're still on copper lines from the phone company, start with our copper line replacement page.
Common questions
How much does a VoIP phone system cost?
It depends on the number of users, the phones you choose, and any network work your building needs. After a site walkthrough we give you a written quote with the monthly service and one-time equipment costs listed separately.
Will our phones work if the internet goes down?
Calls can automatically forward to cell phones during an outage, and a backup internet connection can keep the phones running. We'll recommend the right level of backup for your business.
Can staff answer the office line on their cell phones?
Yes. The mobile app lets staff make and take calls from the business number on their cell phones, so your personal number stays private.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
We'll walk through the terms before you commit, including equipment ownership and what happens if you leave. Ask us during your walkthrough.
